Filipino Volleyball Doha (Fivba), a non- profit sports organisation, donated some airplane tickets to distressed Filipino workers temporarily under the care of the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO-OWWA).
Fivba President Elmer Espiritu together with John McTernan of Chiyoda Al Mana Engineering personally handed over the tickets to the POLO-OWWA office-bearers.
The donation was raised by the group from two volleyball mini-leagues it organised at the Cambridge School in Abu Hamour, recently. The cost of some of the tickets was raised during the Summer V-League 2015 event.
The group also distributed items of basic necessity to distressed OFWS including toiletries and food.
Fivba member and Doha-based comedian Jay R Paz provided entertainment on the occasion.
